Water Filtration Systems for Massachusetts Homes & Businesses
From hard water and chlorine taste to iron stains and PFAS — we design and install Brita PRO filtration systems matched to what’s actually in your water, proven by a free in-home test instead of guesswork.

Your Town Says the Water Is Safe. Your Tap Tells a Different Story.
Most Massachusetts water leaves the treatment plant meeting every federal standard — then picks up chlorine byproducts, hardness minerals, iron, and in some towns PFAS on the way to your faucet. That’s why “safe” water can still stain fixtures, dry out skin, shorten a water heater’s life, and taste like a swimming pool.
We start with a free in-home test, show you the numbers on the spot, and build a Brita PRO system around your water — never a one-size-fits-all tank off the back of a truck. Every installation is backed by our guarantee, and you can keep your system performing at its best with one of our care plans.

Filtration Solutions We Install
One Brita PRO system at the point of entry treats every tap, shower, and appliance in the house — filtered water everywhere, not just at the kitchen sink.
Massachusetts hard water chews through water heaters and leaves spots on everything it touches. Softening protects your appliances and makes soap actually lather.
Activated-carbon and specialty media target chlorine taste and odor, PFAS, iron, manganese, and the other contaminants showing up in Eastern MA water.
Under-sink and reverse-osmosis options that turn your kitchen tap into the bottled water you’ve been paying for by the case.
Engineered systems for restaurants, gyms, offices, and facilities where water quality affects equipment uptime and the product you serve.
A 15-minute visit that measures hardness, chlorine, iron, pH, and more — you see the results on the spot and keep them, no strings attached.
Why Massachusetts Homeowners Choose CleanTap for Their Water
Water treatment is crowded with pushy dealers and one-size-fits-all tanks. We took the opposite road: test first, size the system to the data, and put the guarantee in writing.
The CleanTap Way
- Free in-home test — you see the numbers before any quote
- Certified Brita PRO partner, factory-trained installers
- Systems sized to your water, your plumbing & your family
- Licensed plumbers do the install — no subcontractors
- Written workmanship & performance guarantee
Typical Water Treatment Dealers
- High-pressure demos and same-day-only “deals”
- One tank for every house, no matter the water
- Installers who aren’t licensed plumbers
- Vague pricing until you’re at the kitchen table
- Gone the moment the check clears
Experience the CleanTap difference for yourself
It starts with a free water test — fifteen minutes, real numbers, zero obligation. If your water’s fine, we’ll tell you that too.
Where CleanTap Is Different
Most dealers show up with the system already on the truck and a script to sell it. We show up with a test kit. What we install — or whether we recommend anything at all — depends on what your water says, and we’ll walk you through every number.
Watch a Real In-Home Water Test
Here’s Sean running the same test we’ll run at your kitchen counter: hardness, chlorine, iron, pH, and dissolved solids, with results in minutes. You’ll know exactly what’s in your water before we talk about anything else.

Water Filtration Questions, Answered
How do I know if I need a water filtration system?
Telltale signs: white scale on fixtures, dry skin after showers, chlorine taste or smell, orange iron stains, or a water heater that died young. The only way to know for sure is a test — ours is free, takes about 15 minutes, and you see the results on the spot.
What’s the difference between a filter and a softener?
A softener removes the hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) that cause scale; a filter targets contaminants like chlorine, iron, and PFAS that affect taste, smell, and safety. Many Massachusetts homes benefit from both — a combined Brita PRO system handles the two jobs in one footprint.
Can you treat PFAS?
Yes. PFAS — the “forever chemicals” — have been detected in a number of Eastern Massachusetts water systems, and we install carbon-based and specialty treatment designed to reduce them. If your town has issued a PFAS notice, bring it to your consult and we’ll design around it.
My town’s water meets standards — is there really a problem?
Usually the water leaving the plant is fine. But hardness and chlorine are allowed at levels that still damage plumbing and taste bad, and aging mains can add iron and sediment on the way to your house. Meeting standards and being pleasant to live with are two very different bars.
How much does a whole-home system cost?
It depends on your water chemistry and the size of your home — which is exactly why we test first. After the free test you get a firm written price, and flexible financing with $0-down options is available on qualifying installations.
Who installs the system?
Licensed CleanTap plumbers — the same team that handles our plumbing work. No subcontractors, and every install is covered by our written workmanship guarantee.
How long does installation take?
Most whole-home systems go in within a single day, usually in a basement or utility area near your main shutoff. We confirm placement during the consult and leave the space cleaner than we found it.
What maintenance does a filtration system need?
Brita PRO systems are built to be low-touch: softener salt as needed and periodic media or cartridge changes depending on the setup. We’ll put you on a simple schedule, and we service everything we install.
Do you service systems you didn’t install?
In most cases, yes. We repair and maintain all major filtration and softening brands — if a previous company disappeared on you, we can pick up where they left off.
